We have extensive experience in supporting the owner-operator teams of CSP plants and especially in the extraction of additional value from the sun’s energy. Our journeys with owner-operators from the conventional steam cycle’s operation and maintenance through to storage and solar field optimisation have delivered improved performance, increased equity returns and peace of mind.
SENDOU POWER – SENEGAL
In 2018, the largest Independent Power Producer in Senegal’s history, developed by an international consortium, was unable to operate reliably post commissioning.
In 2021, an elite APP team worked closely with the owner team to finalise the commissioning and has since supported the highly successful operation of the plant at greater than 85% availability – bringing much needed relief and stability to the already stretched Senegalese grid.

2016: Steam and power generation stations’ performance compromised by forced outages and long overhauls.
Now: Significant improvement in boiler, mill and turbo-generator fleet availabilities through sustained improved asset management decisions – yielding significant improvement in business performance.
KELVIN POWER
In 2012, post an exit by AES, the APP team worked with the owner to recover the under-performing 1960s power station to commendable performance through to 2025. A Power Purchase Agreement extension has enabled the plant to operate profitably at high availability with all enhanced by APP services on site.
